A journey from gullaks to proper education system
Mission Education Trust was established with a simple yet powerful belief: that quality education should be accessible to every learner, regardless of financial background. What began as a small effort to support students has gradually grown into a community-driven educational initiative dedicated to empowering young minds through knowledge, guidance, and opportunity.
The journey of Mission Education Trust (MET) began in late 2023 with a vision to make quality education accessible to every learner, regardless of their financial background or social circumstances.
The Trust was founded by Mr. Tasveer Abbas, who at the time was working as a marketing professional in Delhi. Despite having a stable career, he felt a strong calling to contribute to society through education. Driven by the belief that knowledge has the power to transform lives and communities, he made the courageous decision to leave his job and return to Amroha, Uttar Pradesh to begin this mission.
What started as a small initiative soon evolved into a dedicated effort to support students through academic guidance, skill development, educational programs, and community engagement. The foundation of Mission Education Trust was built on a simple yet powerful principle: education should be available to all, not just to those who can afford it.
As the vision grew and the organization expanded its activities, Mission Education Trust was officially registered in September 2024, marking an important milestone in its journey. Since then, MET has continued to work towards empowering students, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities through educat ion, innovation, and service.
In the early days of Mission Education Trust (MET), we had neither large donors nor financial resources. What we did have was a strong belief that education can transform lives and that meaningful change begins when ordinary people come together for a common cause.
To support this vision, we launched a simple yet powerful initiative: the Gullak Campaign. We distributed donation boxes (gullaks) among friends, families, shopkeepers, neighbors, and well-wishers. More importantly, we personally met people, shared our mission, and invited them to become part of a movement dedicated to education and social upliftment.
Gradually, these gullaks returned filled with coins. Every coin represented trust, encouragement, and the belief that quality education should be accessible to everyone. Though the contributions were small individually, together they became the foundation upon which MET began its journey.
At that time, Mr. Tasveer Abbas would collect these coins and take them to hotels and businesses in Delhi, where they were exchanged for currency notes. The money gathered through this effort was used to pay the salary of the very first teacher associated with Mission Education Trust.
This was more than fundraising—it was a demonstration of community support. The salary of our first teacher was made possible not by a few wealthy donors, but by the collective contributions of many kind-hearted individuals who believed in the mission of education.

Expansion of Classes and Learning Space
As student enrollment continued to grow, MET expanded its academic activities by hiring additional teachers and organizing students into three groups: Classes 1–4, Classes 5–6, and Classes 7–8. To accommodate this growth, additional classroom space became essential. In a significant act of support, Mrs. Salmi Zehra Naqvi, who was also serving as a teacher, generously allowed MET to use additional space without any rent, making one of the most valuable contributions to the mission's early development.
